An old Cuban brand which has existed in various forms since the 19th Century, La Vencedora or “The Champion” has risen yet again thanks to the folks at Villiger Cigars. Nipping at the heels of their wildly successful re-launch of the La Flor de Ynclan line, Villiger has delivered an all-Nicaraguan knockout with the new Habano Oscuro-wrapped La Vencedora ushering in Villiger’s 130th year with gusto. During the mid-2000s La Vencedora offered two lines: the Cameroon Series and the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapped Piramides Series. These pleasing, yet unremarkable smokes, like the original La Flor de Ynclan, were shelved due to a lackluster response. The new and improved La Vencedora, however, commands attention with big pepper, wood and spice notes. Handmade at Joya de Nicaragua’s factory, this Puro is Villiger’s first true full-bodied smoke.
