From Alec Bradley and Gurkha to Romeo y Julieta, Rocky Patel and Davidoff, the Plasencia family’s tobaccos are found, in some shape or form, in nearly every humidor across the land. And while the family is revered for their legendary tobaccos, the Plasencia brand of cigars just never seemed to catch on. This changed with a revamped line-up of smokes crafted with the modern aficionado in mind, such as the Plasencia Reserva Original. A rebranding of the Plasencia Reserva Organica line, the Reserva Original is a Nicaraguan Puro featuring an all-organic blend of Esteli and Jalapa leaves. The elegant mild-to-medium bodied smoke unveils hints of cedar, spice, almond, dried fruit, honey and cream. According to Plasencia, the Reserva Original is the first cigar to be officially certified organic and captures the essence of the tobaccos first encountered by Europeans during the age of discovery. The Reserva Original Cortez, a 5 ¾” x 56 Figurado, is a favorite, as is the Reserva Original Perfectico, a highly sought after 3 7/8” x 52 Figurado which is currently only available in Europe.
