While General Cigar celebrated the 150th and 160th anniversaries of the Partagas brand with cigars draped in a rare 1977 vintage Cameroon wrapper, dwindling stocks of the rare wrapper leaf required a departure from the Signature Series to create something entirely new for the legendary brand’s 170th Anniversary. The result: Partagas Anniversario 170.
Turning to the masters of Cameroon tobacco, the Meerapfel family, for a wrapper leaf that would equal the complexity and texture of that first 1977 leaf used for the Partagas 150, the cigar making team selected a special leaf from Kadey, an area in the East Provence of Cameroon. This unique leaf was then paired with a mixture of Nicaraguan “Guardian” and Dominican filler tobaccos, along with a Connecticut Habano binder.
The Anniversario 170 may not have the prestige of its predecessors, yet it offers an experience that is just as entertaining and noticeably richer in profile than the Partagas 150 or 160.
Originally available in a 5” x 50 Robusto, a 6” x 54 Toro and the Salomone, a 7 ¼” x 54 Perfecto.
