Bolstered by the talents of cigar-making legend Jose “Pepin” Garcia and his son Jaime, the Garcia family has reached the very pinnacle of cigar craft, yet the family’s cigar-making prowess goes beyond the father and son duo. It is another crucial figure in the company, Pepin Garcia’s daughter Janny, who serves as the inspiration behind the La Dueña (“female owner”) series. Developed by Janny alongside her brother Jaime and Pete Johnson of Tatuaje cigars fame, the blend features Connecticut Broadleaf and Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Garcia family’s farm in Esteli which are topped by a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The total package delivers a medium-to-full bodied smoke filled with thick notes of cedar, leather, cocoa, coffee bean and spice. Available in a variety of sizes, however the 6” x 56 La Dueña No. 13 Toro Gordo is the lone box-pressed offering.
