Another deeply complex and multi-layered smoke from Nick Melillo and Foundation Cigars, The Tabernacle is a voluptuously rich cigar which celebrates the legendary lineage of Ethiopian King Hailie Selassie and the Ark of the Covenant or “tabernacle” which relates to Melillo’s belief that the Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco is something sacred to be truly cherished.
The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is indeed a Melillo specialty and he uses it here to surround a Mexican San Andres binder and filler blend of Nicaraguan Jalapa and Esteli leaves, as well as Honduran Jamastran tobaccos. Thick notes of earth, espresso, dark chocolate, dried fruit and mesquite enhance the bold and meaty finish of this full-flavored treasure. Also available with an extremely limited Havana Seed CT No. 142 wrapper, Melillo’s specially developed Connecticut River Valley leaf that is supposedly so oily it takes 3 years to complete fermentation.
