Foundation Cigar’s Nick Melillo and George Herbert, the 8th Earl of Carnarvon, have come together to create the Highclere Castle cigar. Highclere Castle is the seat to the Carnarvon Earldom and most recently served as the backdrop for television’s Downton Abbey. Interestingly it was also the 5th Earl of Carnarvon who financed Howard Carter’s hunt for King Tut’s tomb. Harkening back to the cigars once enjoyed at Highclere Castle during the glory days of the British Empire, Highclere Castle cigars offer an elegantly refined experience. Made at the Tabacalera AJ Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, these cigars feature Nicaraguan Criollo, Corojo and hybrid Nicadán filler tobaccos from Jalapa and Ometepe, a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and a Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf. This blend delivers waves of cedar, nuts, pepper, citrus and leather underscored by sweet and creamy nuances. Currently available in five sizes.
