Steve Saka followed up the highly praised Sobremesa with another rich and savory treasure, Mi Querida, whose original Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper leaves were not up to Saka’s exacting standards. Too precious not to use, Saka struck on the idea to create a new cigar cloaked in these lively wrapper leaves that would deliver a satisfying and affordable smoke for the everyday enthusiast. The result: Umbagog.
Named after a favorite fishing spot in New Hampshire (Saka’s home state), Umbagog cigars are built around Nicaraguan tobaccos which work in tandem with the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper to dish out rich flavors of pepper, spice, wood and dark cocoa with just a splash of anise. Medium-to-full bodied, each size is available in paper-wrapped bundles of 10 cigars.
